Black Friday living room rugs - Free delivery

Our Black Friday living room rugs run from small designs beside an armchair to large rugs that hold a whole sofa group, in wool, cotton, jute and washable weaves, and in rectangular, round, runner and square shapes.

Choosing a living room rug in the Black Friday sale

A living room rug is usually bought around furniture you already own, so let the sofa set the size. For a compact sofa and coffee table that is often a medium rug of 160 x 230 cm, a three seater with armchairs usually calls for 200 x 300 cm, and an open plan lounge may need an extra large rug such as 300 x 400 cm.

Then think about how the room is lived in, because a living room rug takes weight and footfall in the same spots every day. Wool springs back where sofa legs press into it and resists everyday marks, which suits a sofa you sit on most evenings. A low pile or flatweave rug is quicker to vacuum around a coffee table, while a deep pile feels softer but can hold dents from heavy furniture for longer. If children or pets use the room, check the washable rugs in the sale first. The rest of the Black Friday deals covers every other room.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Living room rugs are included in our Black Friday sale. This page shows the living room rugs that are included, so a design that appears in the grid during the sale is included.

Size the rug to your seating group rather than the room, so that the front legs of the sofa and every armchair rest on it. That points to 160 x 230 cm for a compact sofa and coffee table, 200 x 300 cm for a three seater with armchairs, and 300 x 400 cm for an open plan lounge.

Start with the sofa’s tone, then decide whether the rug should lead or support it. A sofa in a strong colour sits well on a muted rug in a warm neutral or mineral shade, while a neutral sofa can take a rug with pattern or colour. The Black Friday selection is smaller than the full range, so check the product photos against your sofa and floor in daylight before you order. Our rug colour guide goes through the combinations.

On a hard floor, yes. A living room rug has furniture standing partly on it and people crossing it all day, and without an underlay it can creep out from under the sofa legs and curl at the corners. Use an anti-slip underlay to make sure that you don’t slide on the rug.
