Tossan - A Golden Glow for Your Home

Bring a touch of warmth and comfort to your hallway with this beautifully crafted runner, featuring a rich, golden hue and a soft, inviting surface.

The Tossan runner is a premium choice for those who value both style and substance in their home decor. Crafted with a focus on quality, this rug offers a soft and tactile experience that feels wonderful underfoot, making every step a little more comfortable. Its deep, golden tone adds a vibrant yet calm energy to any space, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere the moment you walk through the door.

Designed to be as functional as it is beautiful, this runner is fully compatible with underfloor heating, ensuring your home stays cosy throughout the colder months. The natural properties of the wool pile provide excellent sound absorption, effectively softening the acoustics in busy areas like hallways or entryways. This makes it a practical addition to your living space, combining comfort with everyday utility.

As part of our Rugvista Premium collection, this piece reflects our commitment to superior craftsmanship and thoughtful design. By choosing this runner, you are investing in a product that has been made with care to ensure durability and lasting beauty. Every detail is considered to provide you with a high-quality home textile that stands the test of time.

We take pride in the origin of our rugs, and this particular piece is hand-loomed in India by skilled artisans. This traditional method of production ensures that each runner is unique, showcasing the dedication of the people who created it. You can feel confident in your choice, knowing that this rug brings genuine character and warmth to your home environment.

Design

The design of this runner is defined by its rich, solid golden colour and clean, minimalist lines. A subtle, decorative border frames the central space, adding a touch of visual interest without overwhelming the room.

Its simple, elegant aesthetic allows it to blend seamlessly into various interior styles. The focus is on the interplay of light and shadow across the soft surface, which highlights the depth of the golden tone.

This runner is created using the traditional hand-loomed technique, a process that requires patience and a high level of skill. Artisans work carefully on the loom, guiding the wool pile to ensure a consistent and durable finish that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate. The time invested in each piece is significant, with skilled craftspeople spending days to complete a single runner.

The human element in this production process is what gives the rug its distinct character and charm. Because it is handmade, the subtle variations in the texture reflect the authentic nature of the craft. This scale of effort is reflected in the final product, offering you a piece that is not only functional but also carries the story of its creation into your home.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
We recommend using an anti-slip mat with this rug, as color migration may occur onto light-colored floors.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Cleaning instructions

Do this

Spot clean only.
Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
