Quito - An Elegant Foundation for Your Home

Bring a touch of refined comfort to your living space with this hand-knotted piece, designed to offer a soft, tactile experience that elevates any room with its sophisticated presence.

The Quito rug brings a sense of calm and tactile luxury to your home. Crafted with a premium approach, this piece offers a soft and inviting surface that provides both warmth and effective sound absorption, making it a perfect addition to your living room or bedroom.

This rug is constructed using Silk for the pile and weft, paired with a sturdy Cotton foundation. The blend of these natural materials creates a beautiful texture that feels gentle underfoot while maintaining the integrity needed for daily use in your home.

Expertly hand-knotted, the Quito features a high density of knots. This detailed craftsmanship ensures that the intricate design remains sharp and clear, while providing the durability you expect from a high-quality rug, ensuring it remains a valued part of your interior for years to come.

Designed for modern living, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating, allowing you to enjoy both warmth and comfort throughout the colder seasons. As a product originating from India, it reflects a long tradition of textile artistry that adds a unique and thoughtful character to your living space.

Design

The design of the Quito rug features a balanced arrangement of decorative borders and rhythmic motifs. Its aesthetic is grounded in a classic composition that feels both structured and organic, making it a versatile choice for various interior settings.

The grey tones are layered to create depth, allowing the pattern to emerge with subtle clarity. This visual approach ensures the rug acts as a sophisticated anchor for your furniture without overwhelming the rest of your decor.

Each Quito rug is brought to life through a dedicated hand-knotted process. This traditional technique requires immense patience and skill, with artisans spending weeks carefully tying each individual knot to achieve the desired density and precision in the pattern.

The human effort involved in creating this rug is substantial, as every inch of the foundation is worked by hand to ensure a consistent and high-quality finish. This labour-intensive method is what allows for the detailed motifs and the distinct, luxurious feel that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate.

By choosing a hand-knotted piece, you are supporting a craft that values time and human expertise. The combination of the durable Cotton foundation and the soft Silk pile is a testament to the careful selection of materials and the mastery required to transform them into a finished rug of this calibre.

80% Silk

Silk is an exclusive natural fibre that provides a soft and shiny feeling to rugs. The material can also be used to enhance details in wool rugs and in some, silk can make up the entire pile and sometimes even the warp. Elegant rugs with rich details can only be made with silk because other fibres are too thick for this purpose. Silk is a durable and hard-wearing fibre that lasts a long time and becomes more beautiful over time. Due to its sensitivity to liquids, it is advisable to refrain from positioning the rug in areas where there is a high likelihood of moisture or potential spills.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
