Handloom Flat - A Quiet Grounding Tone

A rich dark red runner designed to bring calm warmth and tactile depth to narrow spaces.

Crafted from wool, this hand woven runner brings a soft, natural texture underfoot while keeping a subtle presence in your home. The deep dark red shade adds immediate warmth to hallways or entryways, creating an inviting transition between rooms. Its low profile ensures it sits neatly without obstructing doorways or furniture movement.

Designed to suit everyday living, the natural wool construction provides gentle insulation against cold floors. The runner is also compatible with underfloor heating, allowing heat to circulate comfortably throughout the space. Its flat construction gives it a streamlined finish that blends smoothly into various interior layouts.

Woven by skilled artisans in India, the runner carries the distinct quality of traditional handloom craft. The natural variation in the wool fibers adds a quiet depth to the single-toned surface, making each piece subtle yet visually engaging.

Design

The runner features a clean, single-colored surface in a deep dark red tone, free from decorative borders or geometric motifs. Its smooth flat weave creates an uncomplicated visual effect that allows the natural texture of the fibers to take center stage.

The rich color adds depth and character without overwhelming the room. It works well to anchor narrow corridors, complementing both natural wood tones and minimalist interior features to create a welcoming, cosy atmosphere.

Hand woven on traditional looms, this piece requires careful precision and skilled hands to create its smooth, flat weave. Artisans align every thread with uniform tension, working over several weeks to produce a tight and durable surface.

This level of manual effort ensures that the rug maintains its structure and tailored feel over time. Choosing a handloom piece supports time-honoured weaving heritage while bringing a unique, authentic craft into your living space.

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
We recommend using an anti-slip mat with this rug, as color migration may occur onto light-colored floors.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Cleaning instructions

Do this

Spot clean only.
Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
