Gabbeh Giza - A Story Woven in Blue

Bring a sense of calm and character to your home with this charming runner. Featuring whimsical motifs on a deep blue backdrop, it offers a soft, inviting texture that transforms any hallway or narrow space.
The Gabbeh Giza runner brings a gentle, artistic touch to your home, turning everyday walkways into areas of warmth and comfort. Crafted from 100% Wool, this rug offers a soft and tactile surface that feels wonderful underfoot. Its natural material properties provide excellent sound absorption and insulation, ensuring your space feels cosy and quiet.
As part of our Rugvista Premium collection, this piece showcases a high level of craftsmanship that is designed to last. The hand-knotted construction ensures a dense, durable pile that maintains its beauty even in high-traffic areas like hallways. This attention to detail results in a rug that is both a functional floor covering and a beautiful focal point.
Designed with versatility in mind, this runner is fully compatible with underfloor heating, making it a practical choice for modern homes. The natural wool fibres are resilient and easy to maintain, providing you with a long-lasting addition to your interior decor that stands the test of time.
We are committed to quality and ethical production, which is why this rug is produced in India with a focus on traditional techniques. Every step of the process reflects a dedication to excellence, ensuring that you receive a piece that is as thoughtfully made as it is visually appealing.

Design

This runner features a rich blue field adorned with small, whimsical motifs that evoke a sense of playfulness and tradition. The scattered patterns include simplified floral elements and animal figures, creating a balanced and artistic look.
The deep, calming blue hue provides a versatile foundation that works beautifully in various settings. Its clean and uncluttered design keeps the focus on the subtle texture and the charm of the hand-knotted details.
Each Gabbeh Giza runner is carefully created using hand-knotted techniques by skilled artisans. This traditional method requires significant time and precision, as every individual knot is tied by hand to build the rug's structure. The complexity of the work means that a single piece can take several weeks of dedicated effort to complete.
The human element is central to the creation of this rug, with artisans bringing years of experience to the loom. By focusing on manual craftsmanship, we ensure that the final result possesses a unique character and a robust construction that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate.
This intensive production process not only guarantees a high-quality finish but also honours the heritage of rug making. By choosing this hand-knotted runner, you are supporting a tradition of skill and patience that results in a durable, tactile piece for your home.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
