Barba - A Calm Wave for Your Home

Bring a sense of fluid movement to your floors with this soft, irregularly shaped rug that adds a calming touch to any room.

The Barba rug offers a unique, irregular silhouette that breaks away from traditional rectangular designs, bringing a sense of natural flow and organic movement into your living space. Crafted as part of our Rugvista Premium selection, this piece reflects our commitment to quality and thoughtful design, ensuring a standout addition to your home.

Made from Wool, this rug provides a tactile experience that is warm and inviting underfoot. Its plush surface is not only comfortable to walk on but also helps to absorb sound, contributing to a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere in your bedroom or living area.

This rug is designed to be as practical as it is beautiful and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems. You can enjoy the added warmth and comfort of a heated floor without compromising on style, making it a versatile choice for modern homes.

Produced in India with a focus on care and precision, this rug meets high standards for both comfort and durability. Its natural Wool construction remains a timeless choice for those who value both aesthetic appeal and the functional benefits of natural materials.

Design

The design features a series of soft, wave-like lines that follow the irregular contours of the rug, creating a gentle sense of movement. Its deep blue tone adds a sophisticated, grounded element to your interior, making it easy to style in various settings.

With its organic shape and monochromatic palette, the rug serves as a subtle yet effective focal point. The clean, flowing lines provide a sense of balance and calm, perfect for spaces where you want to introduce a soft, modern aesthetic.

This rug is carefully hand-tufted by skilled artisans in India, a process that requires both time and a trained eye for detail. By using a tufting gun to insert Wool fibres into a cotton backing, our craftspeople create a dense and durable pile that stands up to everyday life.

The creation of this specific shape involves a high degree of manual effort, as the edges must be carefully finished by hand to maintain the rug's irregular form. This labour-intensive approach ensures that each piece is crafted with individual attention, resulting in a premium rug that feels distinct and well-made.

Because each piece is handmade, the process reflects a dedication to traditional techniques that prioritise quality over speed. The time invested by our artisans is evident in the evenness of the pile and the smooth, clean lines of the finished product.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this

Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.

Avoid this
