How to decorate with round rugs – ideas for every room

1. Round entryway rug ideas for a welcoming space

Your entryway sets the tone for the rest of your home. A round rug can transform this space, making it warm and welcoming. Choose a small round rug for compact entryways, such as a 100 cm round rug, which offers just enough coverage without overwhelming the space. In larger hallways, a round 150 cm rug beautifully fills the space, creating an inviting focal point that draws your guests in from the moment they step inside.

Pro tip: Choose a bold or patterned rug to create an eye-catching centrepiece, or go for a neutral tone like this grey round rug for a more subtle touch that complements your décor. Plus, neutral tones are great for hiding dirt and debris when you’re short on time for hoovering.

2. Spice up your kitchen with a round rug

A round kitchen rug adds both comfort and style to this often-overlooked space. A durable, washable rug in front of the sink or under the kitchen island softens hard floors and creates a cosy feel underfoot. For busy kitchens, a washable round rug is also a great choice, and a round shape can enhance the flow in tight or awkwardly shaped areas.

3. Impress your guests by choosing a round dining room rug

To truly impress your guests, aim for harmony when decorating with a round dining room rug in that area. If you have a round dining table, consider a large 200 cm round rug underneath it. This enhances the natural shapes in your space, creating a balanced and elegant look that seamlessly connects your dining set to the floor.

For added flair, explore vibrant options like a red round rug to inject a pop of colour, or choose a classic oriental round rug for a traditional touch. Ensure there’s enough room for chairs to move in and out easily without catching on the rug’s edges.

Pro tip: For a round dining table, the key is choosing the right size rug. A rug that’s too small will feel disconnected, while one that’s too large could overpower the room. A round 150 cm rug is ideal for smaller dining tables, while larger tables benefit from a round 200 cm rug.

4. Get cosy and creative – decorate with a round rug in your living room

A round living room rug serves as the heart of your seating area, adding warmth and a sense of togetherness. Position it centrally or beneath your coffee table to unify the space beautifully. Choose a plush, thick pile round rug to enhance texture and comfort, especially in larger areas where a cosy vibe is essential. Explore colours that resonate with your decor—perhaps a bold black round rug for a contemporary feel, or a tranquil blue round rug for a serene atmosphere.

5. Cosy up your bedroom with a round rug

Your bedroom is a peaceful retreat away from the busyness of everyday life. It’s where you relax, recharge, and enjoy a moment of calm. Adding a round rug to your bedroom can enhance that feeling of comfort, softening the space and making it even more inviting. Whether placed under your bed or in a cosy reading nook, a round rug creates warmth and cosiness – helping to turn your bedroom into the perfect sanctuary. You can choose from a variety of colours and textures, such as soft neutrals or bold shades, to complement your bedroom décor.
