How to style a large square rug

Large square rugs are ideal for creating a sense of structure in bigger rooms. In living rooms, they help anchor sofas and armchairs, ensuring furniture feels connected rather than scattered. In dining rooms, a large square rug can sit comfortably beneath a square dining table, allowing chairs to remain on the rug when pulled out.

When selecting a large square rug, it’s important to allow enough space around the edges of the room so the rug doesn’t feel cramped. As a general guide, many larger spaces benefit from a square rug of 200 × 200 cm, 250 x 250 cm or more.

Choosing the right material is also key. Durable, easy-to-clean rugs are well suited to busy households, while thicker pile rugs can add warmth and comfort to more relaxed spaces. If you’re still exploring sizes, browse our full range of square rugs to find the perfect fit.
