Kids rugs — Add a playful energy to your kids’ space

A kids rug helps cushion falls during floor-based play, keep little feet warm on a cold floor, muffle noise between rooms, and mark out a play or reading corner without needing extra furniture. Within our range, find washable kids rugs that are quick and easy to clean when spills happen, wool kids rugs which are naturally stain-resistant and hold up well to daily play, and lighter cotton designs which are easy for kids to move around and roll up. Choose from a huge range of colours, designs and patterns, from rainbows, dinosaurs, maps and animals to calmer single-coloured and pastel designs.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on how the room is used. A small kids’ rug (under 160 cm) works well under a cot, beside a single bed or in a reading corner, while a large kids’ rug (230–349 cm) gives a playroom or shared bedroom enough floor space for building, drawing and floor-based play.

Yes – a soft, low-pile children’s rug in a size that fits comfortably under or beside the cot is the safest starting point, since toddlers spend a lot of time crawling and sitting on the floor. Our guide on choosing a rug for a nursery covers pile height and placement in more detail.

Wool kids’ rugs are durable and naturally stain-resistant, making them a solid all-rounder for a bedroom that gets daily use. Cotton kids’ rugs are lighter and easier fto move or roll, and many are machine washable too.

Rainbow, multicoloured and pastel designs tend to work best, since they add colour without needing to match a specific decor scheme as the room changes over time. Browse the full collection or filter straight to multicoloured kids’ rugs if you know that’s the look you want.

A kids rug earns its keep wherever floor-based play or dressing happens: beside the bed for a soft first step in the morning, in front of a wardrobe or chest of drawers, or centred in a play area to mark it out from the rest of the room. The spot depends on the shape – a rectangular kids’ rug suits a bedroom floor or the space at the end of a bed, a round kids’ rug fits neatly into a reading nook or corner without hard edges to bump into, and a kids’ runner rug works well along a narrow strip of floor or in front of storage.
