Discover this authentic, one-of-a-kind vintage rug from the Middle East, featuring a rich, deep red palette and a beautifully weathered, storied design that brings warmth and character to any room.

This vintage rug captures the essence of Middle Eastern textile artistry, offering a tactile experience that only a well-loved, authentic piece can provide. Its deep, resonant red tones are balanced by soft, faded motifs that suggest a long history of use and appreciation within a home.

The pile is crafted from Wool, ensuring a comfortable, warm feel underfoot that naturally absorbs sound and adds a layer of comfort to your living environment. Because of its vintage nature, the rug possesses a unique character that is impossible to replicate with modern manufacturing.

Being truly one of a kind, this rug is a singular find that will never be produced again. Owning it means bringing a piece of history into your home, where its specific patina and design nuances make it a centrepiece that stands apart from mass-produced floor coverings.

The substantial feel of this piece, combined with its distinct, time-worn aesthetic, makes it a perfect choice for those who value individuality and the warmth of natural materials. It offers a grounded, welcoming atmosphere, turning any area into a more thoughtful and cohesive space.

Middle Eastern rug weaving is a tradition that spans centuries, rooted in the nomadic and village cultures that flourished along historical trade routes. These rugs were originally crafted not just as floor coverings, but as essential household items, often serving as insulation against cold floors and as decorative elements that told the story of the weaver and their community.

The term vintage in the context of these rugs refers to pieces that have gained a unique character through age and usage. Over time, the natural dyes soften, and the pile settles into a texture that is softer and more inviting than when it was new. This natural ageing process is highly valued by collectors who seek the authenticity of a rug that has lived a life before arriving in a new home.

Visually, these pieces often feature intricate border systems and central medallions that have been passed down through generations. While the traditional designs are formal, the way they wear over time creates a more abstract and artistic effect. This specific rug showcases a beautiful interplay between its structured heritage patterns and the softer, more organic look of its faded, vintage finish.

Collecting these rugs is an investment in cultural heritage and human skill. Each piece is a testament to an era of craftsmanship where every detail was intentional. By bringing this rug into your home, you are preserving a tradition that prioritises longevity and beauty, ensuring that the skill of the artisan continues to be celebrated in a modern setting.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who have dedicated weeks to its creation. The construction relies on a sturdy Cotton foundation, which provides the necessary stability and structure to ensure the rug maintains its shape and beauty over decades of use.

The quality of this piece is evidenced by its construction, which balances a substantial weight of 14.4 kg with a refined pile density. This combination signifies a high level of human effort and precision, resulting in a durable and resilient floor covering that reflects the deep traditions of its region.

Every knot is placed by hand, a labour-intensive process that results in the authentic, slightly varied texture characteristic of genuine hand-knotted textiles. This investment of time and human skill is what gives the rug its lasting strength and its ability to age gracefully in your home.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
