Turkaman - A Timeless Foundation for Your Home

This one-of-a-kind Turkaman runner brings rich, deep colour and geometric precision to your interior. Hand-knotted with care, it serves as a unique anchor for any hallway or gallery space.

This stunning Turkaman runner features a deep, resonant palette that instantly grounds a room. Its tactile surface offers a warm, inviting feel underfoot, providing both comfort and natural sound absorption for busy areas of the home.

The rug is crafted from high-quality Wool, which offers a natural resilience and soft texture that holds up beautifully over time. Its pile is dense and plush, creating a luxurious experience that adds a sense of warmth to your living space.

As a truly one-of-a-kind piece, this runner represents a singular vision. Because it is individually crafted, no two rugs are identical, ensuring that the piece you bring into your home is entirely unique and will never be replicated.

The intricate geometric motifs are balanced by a sophisticated border, making this runner an ideal focal point for hallways or narrow rooms. Its durable construction ensures that it will maintain its beauty and character for years to come, serving as a reliable and stylish addition to your decor.

The Turkaman tradition originates from the nomadic tribes of Central Asia, where weaving was a vital expression of tribal identity and heritage. Over centuries, these designs evolved through migration, eventually finding a stable and thriving home in the Middle East, where the craft was refined to the high standards seen in this piece today.

The term Turkaman refers to a specific design language rather than a single location. These rugs are celebrated for their use of repeating motifs and technical consistency. The construction relies on a durable foundation that supports the dense Wool pile, ensuring the rugs are as functional as they are beautiful.

Visually, this tradition is defined by the repetitive use of the 'gul'—an octagonal medallion that represents the tribal lineage of the weaver. These patterns are typically arranged in a structured grid, framed by complex, multi-layered borders that reflect the geometric precision central to the Turkaman style.

Owning a Turkaman runner is an opportunity to connect with a long-standing craft tradition. These pieces are highly valued by collectors for their consistency in colour and pattern, representing a blend of historical artistry and practical, lasting quality that enhances any home.

This runner is entirely hand-knotted, a process that requires immense skill and patience. Each individual knot is placed by hand, creating a robust and dense pile that provides superior wear resistance compared to mass-produced alternatives.

With 160,000 knots per m2, this rug contains approximately 955,000 hand-tied knots. This high knot density ensures the sharp definition of the geometric patterns and provides the structural integrity necessary for a long-lasting, durable textile.

The substantial weight of 14.9 kg confirms the quality of the materials and the density of the knotting. This significant investment of time and labour results in a durable textile that is built to withstand daily use while retaining its refined appearance.

Ull
