Siri Jute - A Foundation of Natural Calm

Bring a touch of organic warmth to your home with this hand-woven jute runner, designed to create a grounded and inviting atmosphere in any hallway or narrow space.
The Siri Jute runner offers a tactile and grounding experience, bringing the raw beauty of nature directly into your home. Its distinct, structured weave provides a robust and reliable surface that feels solid underfoot while adding a layer of sophisticated, earthy texture to your living space.
Crafted from durable jute, this piece is a testament to natural materials that age gracefully. The use of jute ensures a sturdy foundation, making it an excellent choice for high-traffic areas like hallways, where its resilient fibres can easily handle daily movement.
Designed for versatility, this runner is fully compatible with underfloor heating, allowing you to enjoy a warm and cosy environment throughout the colder months. Its ability to integrate seamlessly into various settings makes it a practical addition for those who value both style and everyday functionality.
Originating from India, this piece reflects a long-standing tradition of skilled craftsmanship. By choosing this runner, you are bringing a thoughtfully made item into your home that prioritises authentic materials and a clean, honest aesthetic.

Design

The design of this runner is defined by its clean, structured weave that highlights the natural beauty of the material. The neutral beige tone provides a calm and versatile backdrop that effortlessly complements any interior decor.
With its simple and unadorned aesthetic, the focus remains entirely on the rich texture and organic pattern created by the weave. This minimalist approach ensures the runner remains a timeless element in your home, providing visual interest without overwhelming the space.
This runner is carefully hand-woven by skilled artisans in India, a process that requires both patience and precision. The weaving technique involves interlacing the natural fibres by hand, which results in a consistent and durable structure that machine-made alternatives cannot replicate.
The creation of this piece is a labour-intensive endeavour, with artisans dedicating significant time to ensure each runner meets high standards of quality. The human effort involved in the hand-weaving process imbues the rug with a unique character and a sense of story that is evident in its final texture.
By focusing on traditional hand-woven techniques, the makers ensure that every piece is built to last. This commitment to craft means that you receive a runner that is not only a functional floor covering but also a testament to the skill and dedication of the people who created it.

95% Jute

Jute is a natural material that consists of a long, soft and shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse and strong threads. Jute rugs are known for their natural texture, which makes them durable and highly resistant to wear and tear. They also have a higher sound insulation effect than for example synthetic rugs. Jute rugs are a sustainable option since they can be recycled and are biodegradable. The material is sensitive to moisture, therefore jute rugs should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.

5% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

We are proud to be part of the organization CARE & FAIR. Their mission is to improve the living conditions of carpet weavers in India and their families through education and health

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • The rug can bleach or change colour if exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it is important to avoid placing the rugs in direct sunlight.
  • The rugs are sensitive to moisture, therefore they should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
