The wool pile offers a soft, inviting texture underfoot that provides natural warmth and comfort, making it an ideal choice for living areas or studies where you want to create a cosy, grounded atmosphere.

The rug is defined by its bold, large-scale diamond medallions that anchor the composition, surrounded by intricate tribal motifs that tell a story of regional heritage. Because this is a truly one-of-a-kind piece, you are acquiring a work of art that exists nowhere else in the world, ensuring your home reflects a style that is entirely unique to your collection.

Beyond its visual impact, the dense pile offers excellent sound absorption and durability, standing up to the demands of daily life while maintaining its charm. The quality of the wool ensures that the rug feels substantial and resilient, promising to remain a cherished part of your home for years to come.

Owning this piece means embracing the character of a handmade item, where subtle variations in the weave and colour reflect the human touch behind its creation. It is a rare opportunity to own a textile that balances functional performance with a rich, historic design language.

Shiraz rugs originate from the Fars province in the Middle East, a region with a deep-rooted history of nomadic and semi-nomadic weaving. These rugs are traditionally crafted by various tribal groups, including the Qashqai and Khamseh, who translate their cultural identities and surroundings into the intricate patterns found within the pile.

The term 'Shiraz' refers to the historic city that serves as the primary trade hub for these tribal weavings. Unlike city-based workshops that follow strict, pre-drawn cartoons, these rugs are often woven from memory, allowing the weaver to express individual creativity while staying within the traditional visual language of their specific tribe.

Signature elements of these rugs include stylized geometric motifs, such as diamonds, latch-hook borders, and occasionally pictorial elements representing local flora and fauna. The use of warm, vibrant reds and deep, contrasting dark tones is characteristic of the region, creating a bold, rhythmic aesthetic that is instantly recognisable to collectors.

These rugs are highly valued for their authenticity and the way they bridge the gap between functional household items and tribal art. Owning a piece from this tradition is an investment in cultural heritage, representing a connection to a long, nomadic history of skill and artistic expression that continues to influence interior design today.

This rug is expertly hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate immense focus to every detail. With a density of 90,000 knots per m2, the creation of this 245 x 165 cm piece requires hundreds of hours of precise manual labour, ensuring that each geometric motif is crisp and the structure remains robust.

The weight of 12.1 kg serves as a testament to the generous use of high-quality wool and the density of its foundation. This weight indicates a substantial construction that provides the rug with its signature feel and ensures it remains flat and stable on your floor, highlighting the significant effort invested in its production.

Every knot is placed by hand, a process that creates a level of pile density and pattern clarity that machines simply cannot replicate. By choosing this rug, you are supporting a traditional craft that values precision and lasting quality over mass production, resulting in a floor covering that is built to endure.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
