The Shabargan rugs are deeply rooted in the long-standing weaving traditions of Afghanistan. These rugs often draw inspiration from the diverse cultural influences of the region, blending centuries-old techniques with a visual language that is both distinct and recognisable.

The construction of these rugs relies on traditional hand-knotting, a process that ensures the pile is both dense and durable. The use of high-quality Wool is central to this tradition, as it offers a natural lustre and resilience that improves with age, making these pieces highly valued for their longevity.

Visually, these rugs are often defined by their geometric motifs and rich, earthy colour palettes. The repeating patterns often seen in this style are not merely decorative but are symbolic of the weaver's heritage and environment, creating a cohesive look that feels both grounded and sophisticated.

Today, these rugs are sought after by collectors and homeowners alike for their authenticity and the human story behind each knot. Owning one is a way to preserve a piece of cultural heritage while enjoying a functional item that adds warmth and character to a contemporary home.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate significant time to every single knot. This traditional technique ensures that the pile remains dense and durable, providing a level of quality that cannot be matched by machine-made alternatives.

With a weight of 14.3 kg, the rug features a substantial and dense construction that reflects the significant amount of Wool and labour invested in its creation. This density is what provides the rug with its structural integrity and lasting beauty, ensuring it stays firmly in place while maintaining its shape over time.

The creation of a rug of this size and density is a long process that requires precision and patience. By choosing this piece, you are supporting a craft tradition that values human skill and attention to detail above all else, resulting in a floor covering that is built to last.
