The hand knotted construction ensures a dense, resilient pile that holds its shape and beauty over many years of use. This level of craftsmanship provides a lasting foundation for your interior, offering both reliability and timeless appeal.

Practicality is at the heart of this design, as the rug is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems. This makes it an ideal choice for modern homes where comfort and functionality go hand in hand. You can enjoy the cosy feel of wool without compromising on the efficiency of your heating, ensuring your living space remains warm throughout the colder months.

We take pride in the origin of this rug, which is carefully crafted in India by skilled artisans. The production process respects traditional techniques while adhering to high standards of quality. By choosing this piece, you are bringing a touch of authentic craft into your home, supported by a brand that values both the people who make our rugs and the homes they eventually inhabit.

Design

The design of the Rakel rug is defined by its light, airy aesthetic, featuring soft tones of cream white and orange. The subtle, grid-like pattern adds a gentle structure to the surface without overwhelming the room, making it a versatile choice for a variety of interior settings.

With its delicate lines and warm accents, this rug brings a sense of light and openness to any space. The intentional simplicity of the pattern allows the natural beauty of the wool to take centre stage, creating a calm and harmonious look that feels both contemporary and inviting.

Each Rakel rug is individually hand knotted by talented artisans, a process that requires immense patience and precision. By tying each knot by hand, the weavers ensure that the pile is secure, dense, and uniform. This traditional method of construction is what gives the rug its substantial feel and long-term durability, making it a true investment for your home.

The creation of a single rug is a significant undertaking that can take our dedicated teams several weeks to complete. Every stage, from the initial preparation of the wool to the final finishing touches, is carried out with careful attention to detail. This human-centric approach ensures that no two pieces are exactly alike, giving your rug a unique character that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate.

The intensive labour involved in the hand knotting process is reflected in the rug's finished quality. Because the knots are tied individually, the resulting pile is incredibly stable and robust. This method allows for a level of control and refinement that honours the heritage of the craft, ensuring that your rug stands up to daily life while maintaining its soft, inviting texture.
