Turkish Patchwork rugs represent a creative tradition that breathes new life into historic hand-knotted carpets. Originating across Anatolia, old hand-woven rugs were collected, carefully washed, and repurposed into modern collage compositions.

The term patchwork in Turkish weaving refers to the process of cutting aged carpets into panel segments and stitching them together by hand with strong thread. This technique preserves valuable sections of vintage textiles that might otherwise be lost, combining historic knotting with a contemporary structural layout.

Visual characteristics of these rugs include geometric grid arrangements filled with partial medallions, faded floral sprays, and classic border fragments. The variation in dye shades across adjacent panels creates a rich visual rhythm where every square panel holds a distinct history.

Valued by modern interior designers and collectors alike, these rugs represent both sustainable craft logic and historic preservation. Owning a vintage Turkish Patchwork piece connects your living space to Anatolian weaving culture in a completely personal way.

Hand knotted by skilled artisans in Turkey, this rug is constructed by stitching together selected pieces of vintage hand-knotted rugs. Each section represents hours of precise handwork from its original weaving.

Weighing 8.9 kg across its 305 x 83 cm frame, the substantial weight reflects dense material usage and sturdy assembly. The careful joining of individual panels requires patient craftsmanship to align textures and ensure long-term durability.

The balance of traditional hand knotting and careful reassembly produces a robust piece designed to be lived with and enjoyed for decades to come.
