Patchwork - A Story Woven Over Decades

This vintage Turkish Patchwork runner brings decades of character and rich visual narrative to your home. A truly one-of-a-kind piece crafted from hand-knotted vintage rug fragments.

This vintage Turkish Patchwork runner is a true piece of history for your floor. Aged between 20 and 50 years, each section carries its own unique heritage and character, bringing a warm, lived-in feel to long spaces like hallways or beside the bed.

Made with wool, the low pile provides a smooth, comfortable surface underfoot while offering great durability for everyday living. Its practical low profile makes it easy to place near doors and beneath furniture without catching.

As a genuine one-of-a-kind rug, no second piece exists anywhere. Owning it means bringing an exclusive work of craft history into your home that cannot be replicated.

Originating from Turkey, this piece showcases the rich textile tradition of the region, where vintage hand-knotted rugs are carefully reimagined into modern design statements.

Patchwork rugs originated in Turkey as a creative way to preserve and honor old, hand-knotted textiles. Instead of discarding vintage rugs with worn areas, skilled craftspeople select the finest preserved sections and stitch them together into contemporary compositions.

This process gives a second life to historical hand-knotted pieces, celebrating the subtle fading and soft patina that only decades of genuine age can produce.

The design of this runner features traditional Anatolian motifs, including delicate floral fragments and ornate decorative borders, set against a rich backdrop of varied field colors.

Owning a vintage Turkish Patchwork rug offers a bridge between historical art and modern interiors, making it highly valued by design enthusiasts looking for authenticity and sustainability.

Crafted using traditional hand-knotted techniques, this piece is made from carefully selected vintage Turkish rugs aged between 20 and 50 years. Artisans hand-stitch individual fragments together to create a cohesive runner.

At a weight of 5.4 kg for its 203 x 76 cm size, the runner reflects a dense and substantial wool construction. The labor involved includes not only the original hand-knotting decades ago, but the painstaking process of tailoring and stitching the sections together.

This dual layer of hand craftsmanship—from initial weaving to modern reassembly—justifies the enduring quality and value of this singular textile.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
