With a knot density of 40,000 knots per m2, the surface delivers crisp pattern definition alongside a resilient pile designed to withstand daily life while keeping its inviting character.

As a truly one-of-a-kind creation from Afghanistan, no two rugs are identical.

This exact piece exists nowhere else, meaning your home gains a distinct story that cannot be replicated.

Usak rugs take their name from the historic town of Usak in western Anatolia, which has stood as a central hub of carpet weaving for centuries.

Over generations, the distinct design vocabulary associated with Usak established itself across global markets, eventually inspiring skilled weavers in other renowned rug-making regions such as Afghanistan to adopt and interpret these classic motifs.

The construction relies on traditional hand-knotting methods passed down through families and local communities.

Artisans tie individual knots onto the foundation using natural wool fibres, building up a dense and durable pile that develops a richer character and softer touch the longer it is used in the home.

Visually, Usak traditions are celebrated for large-scale floral elements, flowing vine scrolls, and medallion layouts rendered in muted or earthy palettes.

This particular piece reinterprets those classical design elements with balanced proportions, offering a harmonious arrangement that complements both traditional and contemporary interior spaces.

Owning a hand-knotted rug from this lineage connects your interior directly to a long-standing textile heritage.

It represents an investment in human skill, cultural continuity, and enduring quality that mass-produced floor coverings simply cannot match.

This rug is entirely handmade through traditional hand-knotted techniques, reflecting hundreds of hours of patient human labour by skilled artisans.

With a density of 40,000 knots per m2 distributed across the 298 x 257 cm dimensions, the creation involves approximately 3,063,000 individually tied knots.

The substantial weight of 168.5 kg points to a dense, robust construction using generous amounts of material, ensuring exceptional durability and structural integrity for generations to come.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
