The rug is crafted from high-quality wool, known for its natural resilience and ability to retain its beauty over time. Its dense, hand-knotted construction ensures a durable foundation that can withstand everyday use while maintaining its soft texture and vibrant character.

As a truly one-of-a-kind piece originating from the Middle East, this rug is a singular work of art. Because each rug is made individually, no two pieces are exactly alike, ensuring that the one you bring into your home is a unique expression of craft that will never be replicated.

The deep, rich red tones of this piece are designed to ground a room, providing a calm and sophisticated focal point. Whether placed as an accent in a reading nook or as a statement piece in a smaller area, it offers a timeless aesthetic that celebrates the beauty of traditional design.

The Loribaft rug tradition finds its roots in the nomadic cultures of the Middle East, where weaving has long been a way of life. Originally, these rugs were created by tribal weavers who drew inspiration from their surroundings, incorporating simple, geometric motifs that reflect the natural world and their unique cultural identity.

The term 'Loribaft' refers to a specific style of weaving that emphasises a thicker, softer pile compared to many other regional types. This technique is designed to create a rug that is both practical for nomadic life and exceptionally comfortable, using wool that is hand-spun to maintain its natural oils and strength.

Visually, these pieces are known for their deep, saturated colours, often achieved through traditional dyeing methods that produce rich, earthy tones. The designs typically feature a field of solid colour or subtle, abstract patterns that allow the quality of the wool and the depth of the dye to take centre stage, often framed by simple, elegant borders.

Today, owning a Loribaft rug is an opportunity to connect with a long-standing heritage of craftsmanship. These rugs are highly valued by collectors not only for their aesthetic beauty but for the human story embedded in every knot, representing a bridge between ancient traditions and the modern home.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate weeks of focused effort to each individual piece. This traditional method involves tying thousands of knots by hand onto a foundation, a labour-intensive process that results in a remarkably durable and high-quality final product.

The density and quality of this rug are further evidenced by its weight of 4 kg. This substantial material investment, combined with the precision of the hand-knotting technique, ensures that the rug has a solid structure and a pile that feels dense and luxurious to the touch, reflecting the artisan's commitment to excellence.

Wolle
