Loribaft Fine - A Warm Touch for Your Home

This one-of-a-kind Loribaft rug brings a rich, deep red warmth to any room. Hand-knotted with care, it offers a soft, tactile experience that adds character and comfort to your favourite living space.
This Loribaft rug captures the essence of Middle Eastern textile artistry, offering a deep, inviting red tone that instantly warms any interior. Its dense, plush pile provides a soft and comforting surface underfoot, making it a perfect choice for areas where you want to add a sense of calm and relaxation.
Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, you are choosing a rug that is truly yours. No two rugs are identical, and this specific creation will never be replicated, ensuring that your home features an item with genuine personality and soul.
The quality of the wool pile creates a tactile experience that is both durable and welcoming. Beyond its visual impact, this rug also helps to soften the acoustics of a room, creating a more peaceful environment for you and your family to enjoy.
Designed to last for years, this rug brings a touch of authentic heritage into a modern home. Its ability to anchor a space with its rich colour and soft texture makes it a considered choice for those who value both comfort and lasting design.
Loribaft rugs originate from the nomadic tribes of the Middle East, specifically the Luri people. These rugs were historically woven for personal use within the home, designed to provide warmth and comfort during the harsh winters of the Zagros Mountains. Over time, these rugs have evolved from functional necessities into celebrated pieces of folk art.
The term 'Loribaft' refers to a specific style of weaving that emphasises a thicker, softer pile compared to traditional, thinner flat-woven rugs. This construction is achieved by using high-quality, hand-spun wool, which is known for its natural resilience and ability to retain its soft texture for decades. The result is a rug that feels substantial and luxurious underfoot.
Visually, these rugs are defined by their use of bold, deep colours and an understated approach to pattern. While many oriental rugs feature intricate, formal designs, the Loribaft often leans towards simpler, more abstract, or solid-colour fields that highlight the natural beauty of the wool. This makes them incredibly versatile for a wide range of modern homes.
Owning a piece from this tradition means connecting with a long lineage of nomadic craftsmanship. These rugs are highly valued by collectors for their authenticity and the human story behind every knot. They represent a bridge between ancient traditions and contemporary living, offering a sense of heritage that mass-produced items simply cannot replicate.
This rug is carefully hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate significant time to every single stitch. The process requires immense focus and steady hands, ensuring that the final piece is not only beautiful but also built to withstand daily life in your home.
With a density of 160,000 knots per m2, the construction is exceptionally tight and robust. This high level of precision allows for a more durable pile and a more refined finish, reflecting the immense human effort and expertise poured into its creation over many weeks of work.
The substantial 3.9 kg weight across its 123 x 80 cm surface serves as a testament to the quality of materials used and the density of the weave. This weight ensures the rug lies flat and remains stable, a mark of a well-crafted piece that prioritises quality over speed.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
