Loribaft Fine - A Warm Addition to Your Home

This one-of-a-kind hand-knotted rug from the Middle East brings an earthy, textured warmth to your living space. Its deep, rich tones and soft pile create a grounding foundation that is as durable as it is beautiful.
This Loribaft Fine rug offers a deeply tactile experience, providing a soft and dense surface underfoot that adds genuine comfort to any room. Crafted from high-quality wool, the pile is thick and resilient, making it an excellent choice for areas where you want to add both visual and physical warmth.
The rug features a distinct striped design that anchors a room with its earthy, grounded palette. Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, the subtle variations in colour and texture are unique to this specific rug, ensuring that you are bringing home an item that exists nowhere else.
Beyond its visual appeal, the dense construction provides effective sound absorption, helping to create a calmer and more serene atmosphere in your home. The quality of the wool ensures that the rug maintains its plush feel over time, offering a lasting comfort that only improves with age.
Originating from the Middle Eastern tradition of fine weaving, this rug is a testament to skilled artistry. Its singular presence makes it a standout feature in any interior, perfect for those who appreciate the character and individuality that only a unique, hand-knotted piece can provide.
The Loribaft and Kashkooli traditions are deeply rooted in the weaving heritage of the Middle East, specifically associated with nomadic tribes who have perfected the craft over centuries. These rugs are renowned for their simplified, bold designs which often favour large, open fields and natural colour palettes over the intricate floral motifs found in more urban styles.
The term 'Fine' in this context refers to the elevated knot count and the quality of the wool used in the construction. By using longer, higher-quality wool fibres, the weavers create a pile that is not only softer to the touch but also more resistant to wear, ensuring the rug remains a beautiful part of your home for many years.
Design-wise, these rugs are celebrated for their use of rich, earthy tones derived from natural dyes. The striped patterns, while minimalist in appearance, require a high degree of skill to execute with such consistency, showcasing the weaver's ability to balance simplicity with profound visual impact.
Owning a Loribaft rug is an opportunity to connect with a long-standing cultural tradition of nomadic artistry. These pieces are highly valued by collectors for their authenticity and the human story behind every knot, representing a bridge between ancient techniques and contemporary living.
This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans, a process that requires immense patience and precision. By individually tying each knot onto the foundation, the weavers ensure a level of density and durability that mechanical production simply cannot replicate.
The weight of 3.9 kg for this 124 x 79 cm piece is a direct result of the high-quality materials and the intensive manual labour invested in its construction. This substantial weight signifies a dense, robust build that is designed to withstand daily use while retaining its structural integrity.
The time-honoured technique used to create this piece allows for a level of detail and colour depth that defines the character of the final product. Every inch reflects the dedication of the maker, resulting in a finished rug that is not just a floor covering, but a durable work of art created to last.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
