This Loribaft Fine rug offers a deeply tactile experience, providing a plush and substantial feel underfoot that instantly warms a space. The natural wool pile is soft yet resilient, making it an excellent choice for living areas where comfort and acoustic softness are desired.

Visually, the piece is defined by its sophisticated use of blue tones, which transition through subtle gradients to create a sense of calm movement. The design is understated and elegant, allowing the natural character of the wool to shine through in every thread.

As a truly one-of-a-kind creation, this rug is singular in its composition. No two pieces are ever identical, and by choosing this specific rug, you are welcoming a work of art into your home that will never be replicated elsewhere.

Originating from Middle Eastern weaving traditions, this rug carries a sense of provenance that enhances its appeal. It serves as a grounding anchor for your interior, offering a blend of traditional artistry and a design that feels perfectly at home in a contemporary setting.

The Loribaft and Kashkooli traditions are deeply rooted in the nomadic history of the Middle East. These rugs are traditionally associated with the weaving tribes of the region, who have long used their craft to document their surroundings and cultural identity through symbolic motifs and rich, natural dye palettes.

The name Loribaft itself refers to a specific style of weaving that emphasises a thicker, softer pile compared to many other regional types. This style is prized for its generous use of high-quality wool, which results in a lustrous finish and a comfortable, cushioned feel that makes these rugs highly sought after for modern homes.

Design-wise, these rugs often lean toward an abstract or minimalistic aesthetic, focusing on the beauty of the wool and the depth of the colour rather than overly complex floral motifs. The subtle, atmospheric transitions of colour seen in this piece are a hallmark of the fine, artistic approach taken by contemporary weavers who honour these ancient traditions.

Owning a piece from this tradition is an act of supporting a living heritage. These rugs are not merely floor coverings but are cultural artefacts that represent a blend of ancestral skill and individual expression, making them cherished items for collectors and anyone who appreciates the lasting value of authentic, hand-crafted objects.

Each rug in this collection is painstakingly hand-knotted by skilled artisans. This traditional technique ensures that every single knot is placed by hand, a process that demands immense focus, patience, and a high level of technical precision to maintain consistent tension and pattern alignment.

The substantial weight of this 31.8 kg piece is a direct testament to the quality and density of the materials used. Investing in a rug of this caliber means you are acquiring a piece built to withstand the test of time, with a dense, heavy construction that keeps it firmly in place while maintaining its structure over many years of use.

The creation of such a rug is an investment of time, often taking months of steady work to complete. This dedication to craft is what separates a hand-knotted piece from mass-produced alternatives, ensuring you receive a product that is not only beautiful but also deeply rooted in human skill and heritage.
