The Loribaft Fine rug is a stunning example of Middle Eastern craftsmanship, offering a tactile experience that immediately transforms the atmosphere of a room. Its deep, saturated tones and plush wool pile create an inviting, cosy environment, making it a perfect anchor for living spaces where comfort is a priority.

Because this rug is truly one of a kind, you are acquiring a piece that is entirely unique. No two Loribaft rugs are exactly alike, and this specific iteration will never be replicated, ensuring that your home features a design that is as singular as it is beautiful.

Beyond its visual appeal, the rug provides excellent functional benefits, including natural sound absorption and a supportive feel that stands up to daily life. The quality of the wool ensures that the rug remains a warm and welcoming part of your interior for years to come, aging gracefully with proper care.

The subtle, sophisticated design allows this piece to integrate seamlessly into a variety of home styles, from minimalist to more eclectic settings. Owning this rug means investing in a piece of functional art that carries the soul and tradition of its origins into your everyday life.

The Loribaft and Kashkooli traditions are deeply rooted in the nomadic heritage of the Middle East. These rugs are traditionally associated with the tribes of the region, who developed a distinct style characterised by a thicker, softer pile compared to the more formal, tightly woven rugs of urban workshops.

The term Loribaft refers to a style that prioritises a more relaxed, artistic approach to weaving. It allows the artisan to express creativity through variations in the wool and the way the pile is cut, resulting in a surface that catches light beautifully and feels exceptionally soft and dense to the touch.

Visually, these rugs are known for their minimalist yet evocative designs. While traditional rugs often feature complex, repeating floral or geometric patterns, the Loribaft style often celebrates the beauty of the wool itself, sometimes incorporating subtle, understated geometric motifs or borders that do not overwhelm the space.

Collectors value these pieces for their authenticity and the human connection they represent. Owning a Loribaft means preserving a centuries-old craft tradition, where the skill of the weaver is visible in every inch of the rug. It is a testament to a lifestyle that values quality, patience, and the beauty of natural materials.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused work to ensure every detail is perfect. The process involves securing each strand of wool onto the foundation by hand, a labour-intensive technique that results in a dense, resilient pile capable of withstanding years of use.

With a weight of 16.9 kg, this rug reflects the substantial amount of high-quality materials and effort invested in its creation. The weight is a direct indicator of the density and structural integrity of the piece, ensuring that it lies flat and maintains its shape over time while providing a luxurious, heavy feel that mass-produced alternatives simply cannot match.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
