The Lori rugs originate from the mountainous regions of the Middle East, where the nomadic and semi-nomadic Lori tribes have cultivated their own distinct weaving traditions for generations. These rugs are highly regarded for their honest, rustic appeal and the way they reflect the rugged beauty of their ancestral landscape.

The construction of these rugs is defined by their dense, hand-knotted pile, which provides both warmth and remarkable durability. The use of high-quality wool is central to this tradition, as it offers a natural lustre and resilience that allows the rug to age gracefully, often becoming more beautiful with time.

Visually, Lori rugs are celebrated for their bold geometric motifs and deep, earthy colour palettes. The design language often features stylised tribal symbols and medallions that tell stories of the weaver's culture and environment. This particular piece showcases a strong sense of symmetry and traditional pattern work that is quintessential to the Lori style.

Owning a Lori rug is an opportunity to connect with a rich cultural history. These pieces are collected not only for their striking aesthetic but also for the skill and heritage they represent. By choosing this rug, you are welcoming a piece of authentic artistry into your home that celebrates human creativity and tradition.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused, precise effort to its creation. By tying each individual knot by hand, the weavers ensure a level of structural integrity and pile density that machines simply cannot emulate.

With a weight of 12.2 kg, this rug demonstrates a high density of material, which directly translates to its exceptional durability and comfort. The time and human effort invested in this process are evident in the clarity of the design and the resilience of the wool pile, guaranteeing a product that stands up to daily life.

The construction process relies on a traditional foundation that provides the necessary tension for the hand-knotted pile. This careful balance of materials and manual labour results in a sturdy, well-crafted piece that maintains its form and vibrant appeal over time.
