This one-of-a-kind runner brings a touch of authentic Afghan artistry to your home. Its slim, elongated shape makes it a practical yet visually striking choice for hallways, entryways, or bedside spaces where you want to add both comfort and a splash of colour.

Expertly crafted from Wool, this runner feels wonderfully grounding underfoot. The low pile construction offers a smooth, stable surface that is easy to maintain, while the natural warmth of the Wool creates a cosy atmosphere in any room it graces.

The runner is defined by its bold, geometric motifs that draw the eye and anchor your interior design. Because this is a unique, hand-woven piece, the colour placement and pattern nuances are exclusive to this specific rug, ensuring that your choice is a singular expression of style.

Owning this runner means bringing home a piece of cultural heritage that cannot be replicated. No two of these rugs are identical, as each one captures the individual touch of the artisan who created it, making it a special addition to your living space.

Kelim rugs have long been a cornerstone of nomadic life across the Middle East and Central Asia. Originally designed as functional, portable floor coverings and blankets, these flat-woven textiles were essential for the migratory lifestyle of tribal groups who needed items that were both durable and easy to transport.

The term kelim refers specifically to the weaving technique where the weft threads are pulled tightly over the warp threads to create a flat, pileless surface. This method allows for the creation of sharp, clean geometric designs and intricate patterns that appear identical on both sides of the rug.

The visual language of these rugs is deeply rooted in tribal symbolism, with geometric medallions and diamond shapes serving as traditional motifs that often carry ancestral meanings. The vibrant colour palette seen here reflects the use of traditional natural dyes, which have been used for centuries to achieve rich, lasting tones that only grow more beautiful with time.

Today, these rugs are highly prized by collectors and homeowners alike for their authenticity and connection to a rich craft tradition. By choosing a piece like this, you are preserving a legacy of skill and cultural expression, bringing a timeless, grounded energy to your modern home.

This runner is created using a traditional hand-woven technique, a process that requires immense patience and skill. By interlacing the Wool threads without a knotted pile, the artisans achieve a flat, durable finish that has been perfected over generations of practice.

Weighing 0.7 kg across its 143 x 50 cm dimensions, this rug demonstrates a dense, sturdy construction. The time and effort required to weave such a piece by hand are significant, reflecting a commitment to quality that results in a runner capable of withstanding daily use while maintaining its vibrant, intricate patterns.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
