Brown / Orange253 x 345 cm

Keshan rugs hold a legendary place in the history of Middle Eastern textile art, originating from a famous city known for producing some of the finest designs ever created. For centuries, these rugs have been favoured by collectors and families alike for their formal beauty and exceptional presence.

The classic design is renowned for its harmonious composition, typically featuring a grand central medallion that acts as the focal point of the entire layout. This central element is surrounded by a dense field of scrolling vines, delicate blossoms, and traditional floral motifs.

Each detail in the pattern is framed by a series of intricate borders, which help to ground the design and create a sense of balance. The traditional colour palette often relies on rich, contrasting tones that highlight the complexity of the hand-woven details.

Today, these rugs represent a lasting legacy of craftsmanship and cultural heritage. Bringing one into your home is not just about choosing a floor covering, but about acquiring a piece of history that continues to inspire and elevate classic interiors.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted by skilled artisans who use traditional methods to build the pile knot by knot. This ancient technique requires immense patience and precision, resulting in a robust structure that machine-made alternatives simply cannot match.

The sheer scale of effort is reflected in the rug's substantial weight of over 32 kg and its generous dimensions. Crafting a piece of this size and density demands months of focused daily labour, making it a true testament to human skill and dedication.

By securing each individual strand by hand, the weavers ensure that the pile remains dense and resilient over time. This careful construction guarantees that the rug will maintain its shape and beauty, serving as a lasting foundation for your home.
