Brown / BeigeRunner83 x 194 cm

Kazak rugs originate from the Caucasus region, historically known for their bold geometric designs and striking colour palettes. Today, the tradition is vibrantly carried forward by master weavers in Afghanistan, who draw inspiration from these ancestral patterns to create rugs that are prized for their authenticity and expressive power.

The term 'Kazak' refers to a style rather than a specific village, representing a lineage of craft that values distinct, large-scale motifs. These rugs are typically characterised by their thick, high-quality Wool piles, which offer a tactile richness that is both visually striking and physically satisfying to touch.

The visual language of these rugs is defined by iconic medallions, often geometric or star-shaped, set against bold, solid fields. The borders are usually ornate and carefully balanced, framing the central motifs with patterns that show the weaver's artistic intent and adherence to regional design heritage.

Owning a Kazak rug is an invitation to bring a piece of deep-rooted craft history into your home. Collectors value these pieces not only for their beauty but for the human skill embedded in every fibre, representing a commitment to preserving a legacy of artistry that transcends modern trends.

This runner is carefully hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate countless hours to ensuring every detail is perfect. By tying each knot by hand, the weavers create a resilient and dense pile that provides a luxurious feel and exceptional durability, allowing the rug to remain a fixture in your home for many years.

The process relies on traditional techniques passed down through generations, ensuring that every piece is built with precision and care. Weighing 4.8 kg, this rug reflects the significant amount of material and labour invested in its construction, which translates directly into the high quality and structural integrity you experience every time you walk across it.
