Kazak FineHand KnottedRug

Brown / OrangeRunner82 x 291 cm

Kazak rugs represent a storied tradition that has evolved over centuries. Originally named after the tribal weavers of the Caucasus region, these rugs are now predominantly crafted in Afghanistan, where artisans continue to honour these ancient design principles.

The term 'Kazak' refers to a specific style of bold, geometric design characterised by its spontaneity and vibrant expression. These rugs are known for their ability to blend traditional tribal aesthetics with a timeless appeal that fits beautifully into modern homes.

Signature design elements often include large-scale geometric medallions, stylised floral motifs, and dramatic borders. In this particular piece, the striking combination of colours and the orderly arrangement of shapes showcase the classic, bold visual language that collectors and enthusiasts have admired for generations.

Owning a piece from this tradition is an investment in cultural heritage. Because these rugs are made by hand using long-standing techniques, they possess a soul and character that mass-produced items lack, making them highly valued for their authenticity and lasting beauty.

This runner is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused work to bring its complex pattern to life. The process begins by hand-tying every single knot onto the foundation, a level of labour and precision that simply cannot be replicated by machines.

With a density of 90,000 knots per m2, this rug is built for longevity and visual sharpness. This density ensures that the intricate geometric details remain crisp and clear while providing a substantial, heavy pile that resists wear even in busy areas of the home.

The weight of 7.2 kg across its 291 x 82 cm dimensions is a testament to the quality of materials used and the tightness of the construction. This density not only gives the rug its luxurious feel but also ensures it stays firmly in place, reflecting the deep commitment to quality that defines traditional hand-knotted work.
