Dark teal / Green145 x 179 cm

Kazak rugs have a rich history rooted in the Caucasus region, known for their striking geometric designs and vibrant colour palettes. Over time, these weaving traditions have been embraced and kept alive by skilled artisans in Afghanistan, who continue to produce these sought-after pieces today.

The term Kazak Fine refers to the detailed execution of the traditional patterns, where weavers use high-quality wool to achieve a clearer, more defined design. This careful attention to detail results in a dense, resilient pile that stands up well to daily life while maintaining its appearance.

Traditionally characterised by bold geometric shapes, this contemporary interpretation features a brilliant blue field decorated with symmetrical floral and botanical motifs. Framed by a classic multi-layered decorative border, the design combines traditional structure with a refreshing colour palette.

Owning an Afghan Kazak rug is about appreciating a living craft tradition. Each piece represents hours of dedicated work and generations of shared knowledge, making it a valuable addition to any home and a true conversation piece.

This rug is hand-knotted by skilled artisans in Afghanistan, a process that requires immense patience and precision. Every single knot is placed individually by hand, creating a robust structure that machine-made rugs simply cannot replicate.

Weighing 7.8 kg for its 179 x 145 cm size, the rug has a substantial, dense feel that reflects the abundance of natural wool used in its construction. This weight ensures the rug sits securely on your floor, offering excellent stability and long-term durability.
