The tactile experience of this rug is defined by its smooth, dense pile, which feels remarkably soft and inviting underfoot. Its quality construction provides natural insulation and warmth, creating a cosy atmosphere while effectively absorbing sound to enhance the comfort of your living environment.

Originating from the renowned weaving traditions of the Middle East, this rug showcases a level of detail that only true hand-knotted artistry can achieve. The intricate floral motifs and central medallion are rendered with such clarity that they create a lasting visual impact, transforming your floor into a canvas of cultural heritage.

Because this rug is a unique creation, you are acquiring a piece that exists nowhere else in the world. No two rugs are identical, and owning this specific item means you possess a singular work of art that will never be replicated, ensuring your home remains as individual as your taste.

Isfahan rugs are celebrated globally as some of the most refined and technically sophisticated pieces originating from the Middle East. Named after the historic city of Isfahan, once the capital of the Safavid Empire, these rugs reflect a long-standing tradition of royal patronage and artistic excellence that has defined the region's output for centuries.

The technical mastery required to produce an Isfahan rug is immense. These pieces often feature very high knot densities, which allow for the fluid, curvilinear designs that are a hallmark of the style. This density not only creates a lustrous, smooth surface but also ensures that the rug remains a durable, high-performing textile that can grace a home for generations.

Design-wise, Isfahan rugs are famous for their balanced, harmonious compositions. They frequently centre around a delicate, star-shaped or floral medallion, surrounded by a field of intricate scrolling vines, palmettes, and leaves. The colour palettes are typically sophisticated, often employing rich, harmonious tones that highlight the complexity of the floral work within the borders.

Owning an Isfahan rug is a commitment to heritage and exceptional skill. These rugs are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts who value the cultural weight of such a storied tradition. When you bring an Isfahan into your home, you are not just acquiring a floor covering, but a piece of artistic history that represents the pinnacle of Middle Eastern weaving craft.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and highly developed skills passed down through generations. With a density of 810,000 knots per m2, the creation of this specific piece represents hundreds of hours of dedicated labour by master artisans.

The high knot density is essential for achieving the sharp, clear design details seen in the floral patterns and border work. This level of precision also results in a significantly more durable and resilient pile, ensuring that the rug maintains its structure and beauty even with regular use in your home.

The weight of 2.9 kg for this 118 x 83 cm piece is a testament to the quality of the materials used and the tightness of the weave. This weight confirms that the rug is constructed to be substantial and long-lasting, providing a solid, high-quality foundation that reflects the depth of effort invested in its production.
