Hosseinabad rugs originate from a village near Hamadan in the Middle East, a region with a deep and storied history of nomadic and village weaving. These rugs are celebrated for their sturdy construction and their ability to bring a sense of grounded, traditional warmth into a home.

The term hand-knotted refers to the traditional craft where each individual tuft of Wool is secured around the foundation threads. This method is the hallmark of quality in rug making, as it creates a dense pile that is far more durable than any machine-made alternative, ensuring the rug can handle years of footsteps.

Visually, Hosseinabad rugs are often defined by their bold, geometric interpretations of floral motifs and central medallions. This particular runner features a rich, deep red field that serves as a classic backdrop for the intricate, repeating designs that are characteristic of this weaving tradition.

Collecting a rug from this region is an opportunity to own a piece of cultural heritage. These items are valued not just for their aesthetic appeal, but for the immense human effort and ancestral knowledge required to produce them, making them a lasting investment for any home.

This runner is meticulously hand-knotted, a labour-intensive process that ensures the highest level of structural integrity. By carefully tying each individual knot by hand, the artisans create a dense, durable pile that is designed to withstand daily use while maintaining its shape and beauty.

With a total weight of 11.4 kg, this rug demonstrates the substantial amount of Wool and effort required for its creation. This density is a direct result of the human skill involved in the knotting process, which provides a level of durability and weight that machine-made rugs simply cannot replicate.

The time and precision invested in this runner result in a crisp, clear pattern and a long-lasting foundation. Each knot acts as a testament to the artisan's dedication, providing you with a high-quality, reliable piece that is built to endure.
