HosseinabadHand KnottedRug

Dark red / Black110 x 157 cm

Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan region of the Middle East, an area with a deep-rooted history of weaving that spans centuries. These rugs are celebrated for their sturdy construction and the use of bold, expressive designs that reflect the cultural heritage of the local nomadic and village populations.

The term hand-knotted refers to the traditional method where every individual knot is tied by hand onto a cotton foundation. This technique is vital for quality because it allows for intricate pattern definition and creates a pile that is incredibly durable. A hand-knotted rug is not just a floor covering but a structural masterpiece designed to endure generations of use.

Visually, these rugs are often defined by their geometric interpretations of floral motifs and central medallions. This particular rug features a striking medallion set against a field of rich red, surrounded by a decorative border that frames the design beautifully. The interplay of deep tones and lighter highlights is a classic hallmark of the region's artistic style.

Owning a Hosseinabad rug is an invitation to bring a piece of living history into your home. Collectors value these pieces for their authenticity and the human story behind every knot. They represent a commitment to traditional craft over modern speed, making them highly sought after by those who prioritize heritage and lasting quality in their living spaces.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted, a process that requires significant time, patience, and precision from the artisan. By carefully looping each strand of wool around the foundation, the weaver creates a robust and high-quality structure that is built to last.

The density of the construction is reflected in the rug's weight of 6 kg. This substantial weight is a direct result of the high volume of material used and the tight tension of the knotting, ensuring that the finished product remains firm and resilient in high-traffic areas of your home.

The sheer amount of human effort invested in this piece ensures a level of detail and structural integrity that machines cannot replicate. Each knot is a testament to the skill of the weaver, resulting in a finished rug that feels dense, substantial, and incredibly well-made.
