Black / Dark redRunner87 x 300 cm

Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan region in the Middle East, an area with a deep-rooted tradition of village weaving that spans centuries. These rugs are celebrated for their sturdy construction and their ability to bring a sense of grounded, rustic charm to any interior space.

The technical quality of these rugs is defined by their consistent, reliable construction, which uses high-quality Wool to create a durable surface. This traditional approach to weaving ensures that each rug is not only visually striking but also practical, capable of enduring the wear and tear of high-traffic areas in a busy household.

Visually, these runners are often characterised by their bold, geometric motifs and a strong, often red-toned colour palette. The designs frequently feature variations of the Herati pattern or simple, rhythmic floral elements that reflect the local artistic landscape, creating a cohesive look that is both balanced and inviting.

Collecting a rug from this tradition means connecting with a heritage of skilled craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations. These pieces are valued not only for their aesthetic appeal but for their ability to anchor a room, providing a sense of cultural weight and authentic character that remains relevant in modern homes.

This runner is meticulously hand-knotted, a labour-intensive process that requires immense skill and patience. With a total of approximately 417,600 individual knots, this piece represents hundreds of hours of focused human effort, ensuring every detail of the geometric pattern is perfectly placed.

The substantial weight of 11 kg across its 300 x 87 cm frame serves as a testament to the quality and density of the Wool used. This weight is a direct result of the dense knotting process, which provides the foundation for the rug's longevity and its ability to lay flat and secure in your home.

By choosing a hand-knotted rug, you are supporting a time-honoured craft where the artisan's touch is visible in every inch. The density achieved through this traditional method ensures that the pile remains resilient and supportive, reflecting a level of structural integrity that only slow, deliberate hand-work can produce.
