This vintage rug draws from the deep-rooted textile traditions of the Middle East, a region renowned for centuries as the epicentre of rug weaving. The artistic lineage of these pieces is tied to nomadic and village cultures that translated their environment, faith, and stories into complex, woven geometries.

The term vintage refers to the age and maturation of the Wool and dyes, which often soften and harmonise over time to create a depth of colour that is difficult to achieve in new pieces. The use of Wool in the pile is a traditional choice that ensures a natural, long-lasting surface that ages gracefully with regular use.

Signature design elements in this region often include repeating motifs, such as the ones seen here, which serve as both decorative and symbolic markers of the weaver's heritage. The borders often feature intricate geometric work that frames the central field, providing a sense of balance and formal structure that is iconic to the style.

Owning a vintage piece from this tradition is an investment in cultural heritage. Collectors value these rugs not only for their durability but for the human story embedded in every knot. By bringing this rug into your home, you are preserving a craft that has been passed down through generations, adding authentic weight and character to your living space.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to bring each piece to life. The process involves thousands of individual knots, ensuring a level of durability and precision that simply cannot be matched by modern machine-made alternatives.

With a density of 490,000 knots per m2, this rug showcases an extraordinary level of detail and structural integrity. This high knot count allows for sharper, more intricate patterns and creates a denser, more luxurious pile that will stand the test of time and maintain its beauty for generations.

The significant weight of 7.1 kg for its size is a testament to the generous use of high-quality Wool and the tight, stable foundation. This substantial feel is a hallmark of superior craft, ensuring the rug lies perfectly flat and offers a premium, weighted presence on your floor.
