Its dense wool pile provides a comforting, cushioned feel underfoot, offering natural insulation and sound-dampening qualities that make your home feel more serene and inviting.

The intricate patterns are rendered with exceptional clarity, a testament to the high knot density that ensures both visual precision and long-term resilience. Because this rug is one of a kind, you are acquiring a singular piece of craftsmanship that will never be replicated, making it a truly special addition to your interior collection.

Originating from the Middle Eastern tradition, this runner embodies a classic elegance that bridges the gap between traditional heritage and modern living. Its robust construction ensures that the rug remains a staple in your home for years to come, maintaining its shape and vibrant appearance even in high-traffic areas.

Beyond its visual appeal, the tactile experience of the wool is unmatched, offering a soft yet durable surface that stands up to daily life. Owning this runner means inviting a piece of history into your home, where every motif tells a story of skill and dedication that you can enjoy every single day.

The Bidjar region in the Middle East has long been celebrated for producing what are often called the iron rugs of the industry. These pieces are renowned for their incredible strength and durability, a reputation earned through a unique, dense weaving technique that makes the foundation of the rug exceptionally firm.

The term hand-knotted refers to the laborious process of tying individual strands of wool onto the foundation cords. In this tradition, a higher knot count is synonymous with superior quality, as it allows for the creation of intricate, sharp patterns that stay crisp over decades of use. This density is the hallmark of a premium rug, providing a luxurious, heavy pile that feels substantial and rich.

Design-wise, these rugs often feature geometric medallions and ornate floral motifs that reflect the cultural richness of the region. The inclusion of a formal, decorative border is a signature element that frames the central field, providing a sense of balance and order to the complex patterns contained within.

Collecting a piece from this tradition is an investment in both history and skill. These rugs are highly valued not just for their resilience, but for the depth of cultural narrative woven into every thread. Owning one offers a connection to an ancient craft that prioritises quality and longevity above all else.

This runner is entirely hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and precision to achieve such a refined level of detail. With a density of 360,000 knots per m2, the artisan has dedicated hundreds of hours to ensure that each individual knot is placed with exactitude, resulting in a pile that is exceptionally uniform and durable.

The weight of 12.4 kg across the 305 x 85 cm surface area highlights the substantial amount of high-quality wool used in its creation. This density not only contributes to the rug’s structural integrity but also justifies the significant time and labour invested by the weaver, ensuring a product that is built to withstand generations of use.

Every inch of this runner reflects the culmination of traditional techniques passed down through generations. By choosing a piece of this calibre, you are supporting a legacy of craft where quality is measured by the tightness of the weave and the deliberate care taken during every stage of the production journey.

Wolle
