This round Berber rug brings a warm, tactile feel to your floor with its textured pile and distinct character. Made with pure wool, it offers a soft surface underfoot that adds cozy comfort to your living space while naturally insulating against cold floors.

The distinctive circular format and 14 mm thickness create a grounding presence, making it ideal for defining small seating corners or reading nooks. The dense wool construction ensures natural resilience for everyday living.

As a true one-of-a-kind piece, this exact rug will never be made again. Owning it means bringing an exclusive work of textile art into your home that cannot be replicated.

Crafted in Afghanistan, it represents a modern expression of traditional regional weaving techniques, combining authentic origins with a vibrant contemporary look.

Berber rugs originate from the tribal communities of North Africa, traditionally woven for warmth and practical use in home settings. Over time, these weaving traditions have inspired artisans across neighbouring regions, including Afghanistan, where craftspeople adapt traditional geometric languages to create bold new expressions.

The term hand-knotted refers to the technique where individual strands of yarn are tied around warp threads to form the pile. This labour-intensive process creates a strong, flexible structure that maintains its character over decades of use.

Signature visual elements of this style include abstract geometric motifs, checkered segments, and freeform blocks of colour. Rather than following rigid symmetry, the layout feels organic, turning traditional patterns into a lively collage of shapes and tones.

Rugs from this tradition are prized by collectors and homeowners alike for their individuality and creative freedom. Acquiring a hand-knotted piece connects your space to centuries of textile history while adding a modern point of focus.

Every element of this piece is hand-knotted by skilled artisans in Afghanistan. The traditional knotting method requires intense focus and time, resulting in a durable structure built to last for generations.

Weighing 3.8 kg for its 100 x 95 cm size, the substantial weight highlights the generous amount of natural wool used in its construction. This dense material investment provides both longevity and sensory quality underfoot.

The human element behind hand-knotted rugs means that subtle variations in texture and design occur naturally. These small details reflect the individual weaver's touch, making the rug a genuine testament to human skill.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
