The generous pile provides excellent sound absorption, helping to create a calm and peaceful environment in your home. Its natural material construction ensures durability, allowing it to maintain its beauty and softness even in busy areas of the house.

Originating from the skilled weaving traditions of Afghanistan, this rug brings a touch of global heritage into your living space. Its colourful design is balanced by a sturdy construction, ensuring that it remains a cherished part of your home for years to come.

Berber rugs are rooted in the ancient weaving traditions of North Africa, yet their influence has travelled far beyond their origins. Today, Afghan weavers have embraced these nomadic-inspired styles, infusing them with their own regional expertise and vibrant colour palettes, resulting in pieces that bridge different cultural histories.

The term 'Berber' originally referred to the tribal peoples of the Atlas Mountains, known for their expressive, geometric textiles. While the techniques have moved across regions, the heart of the craft remains the same: a focus on raw, natural materials and a design language that prioritises storytelling through simple, bold shapes and symbolic motifs.

Visually, these rugs are defined by their freedom of expression. Unlike more formal, symmetrical styles, this rug features an organic, patchwork-style layout where colours and blocks interact in a playful way. This design approach allows for a spontaneous use of colour, often reflecting the surroundings and the individual weaver's creativity, making each piece feel like a snapshot of a specific moment in time.

Owning a hand-knotted rug from this tradition is about more than just decor. It represents a connection to a long lineage of artisans who have passed down their skills through generations. By bringing such a piece into your home, you are supporting a craft that values human touch over mass production, ensuring your space is filled with items that carry real weight and cultural significance.

This rug is carefully hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and skill. Each knot is placed by hand, creating a dense and resilient pile that stands up to daily use while retaining its intricate pattern clarity and structural integrity.

With a total weight of 9.1 kg, this rug demonstrates the high density of material used in its creation. This substantial weight is a clear indicator of the labour-intensive effort and quality invested in its production, ensuring a heavy, high-quality feel that lays flat and holds its shape over time.

Uld
