Black / Dark red60 x 90 cm

The Baluch tradition originates from the nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes residing in the border regions of the Middle East. These artisans have historically created rugs that serve as both functional floor coverings and expressions of their cultural identity, with designs passed down through generations of weavers.

The term Beluch refers to these specific tribal traditions, which are celebrated for their focus on Wool quality and deep, earthy palettes. These rugs are often known for their resilience, as they were originally designed to withstand the rigours of nomadic life, making them exceptionally long-lasting additions to any modern home.

Signature design elements often include geometric motifs and stylized floral patterns, frequently arranged within borders that frame the field with precision. The use of dark, saturated colours is a hallmark of this style, providing a sophisticated backdrop that highlights the intricate details woven into the fabric.

Collecting a rug from this tradition is an opportunity to own a piece of living history. These rugs are valued not only for their skill and artistry but also for the cultural narrative they carry, representing a bridge between ancient nomadic lifestyles and the contemporary appreciation for handmade, soulful decor.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate significant time and precision to every single strand. The process requires a steady hand and a deep understanding of the craft, ensuring that each knot is placed with care to build a sturdy and resilient foundation.

Given the density and the quality of the Wool, this piece represents a substantial investment of human effort. The time taken to complete such a rug is considerable, as every detail of the pattern is brought to life manually. This dedication to the craft results in a finished product that is far more durable and visually refined than any mass-produced alternative.
