The Beluch rug tradition originates from the nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes of the border regions in the Middle East. These rugs are deeply rooted in a history of migration and pastoral life, reflecting the cultural heritage of the people who have long expressed their identity through weaving.

Historically, these rugs were crafted to be portable and functional, serving as essential items for nomadic life. The techniques used are passed down through generations, with weavers often working from memory to create the intricate geometric patterns that are characteristic of this region.

The design of this runner is defined by its signature dark, rich tones and repeating geometric medallions. These motifs are often inspired by the natural world and tribal symbolism, enclosed by detailed borders that frame the composition. Such patterns are a hallmark of the tradition, offering a sense of structure and historical continuity.

Owning a Beluch rug is an opportunity to connect with a long-standing craft tradition. These pieces are highly valued by collectors for their authenticity and the skill required to produce them. By adding this runner to your home, you are preserving a piece of cultural history while enjoying a durable and meaningful textile.

This rug is carefully hand-knotted by skilled artisans who have honed their craft over generations. The process is incredibly time-intensive, requiring a high level of precision and patience to ensure every knot is placed perfectly to create the final, defined pattern.

With a weight of 14.3 kg, the rug demonstrates the significant amount of material and labour invested in its construction. This substantial weight is a clear indicator of its dense, high-quality build, which ensures the piece remains stable and retains its shape and beauty for many years to come.

The human effort involved in producing a piece of this size is immense, with each knot contributing to the overall integrity of the finished runner. This dedication to traditional techniques results in a durable and characterful floor covering that stands as a testament to the artisan's skill.
