Every square centimetre reflects a dedication to quality that you can feel with every step.

As a genuine one-of-a-kind find originating from Persia, this rug carries a distinct character that cannot be replicated.

No two pieces are identical, meaning the exact pattern and subtle colour variations found here exist nowhere else in the world.

Owning this authentic handmade creation brings a touch of living history into your home.

It serves as a grounded, comforting anchor for your interior, combining timeless design with the reassuring warmth of natural materials.

Bakhtiari rugs take their name from the Bakhtiari nomadic and village confederacy of the Zagros Mountains in Persia.

For generations, these communities have practised a rich weaving tradition deeply intertwined with their pastoral lifestyle, drawing inspiration from the rugged mountain landscapes and fertile gardens around them.

The construction features a traditional handmade knotting technique where individual yarn strands are tied tightly to the foundation.

This method creates a robust and resilient structure, ensuring that the wool pile stands up to daily life while maintaining a soft, inviting texture.

Visually, Bakhtiari rugs are renowned for their distinctive garden-inspired layouts and bold medallion formats, often partitioned into compartments representing flowers and shrubberies.

While traditional palettes frequently incorporate deep reds and dark blues, each weaver introduces subtle variations in shade and motif that make individual pieces distinctly personal.

Collecting a Bakhtiari rug means acquiring a tangible piece of Persian craft heritage.

The skill passed down through families ensures that owning one of these carpets is not merely about floor coverings, but about preserving a living tradition of storytelling through textile art.

This Bakhtiari rug is entirely hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of meticulous labour to its creation.

Using a traditional vertical loom, weavers tie each knot by hand, building the design stitch by stitch with remarkable precision.

With a density of 250,000 knots per m2 distributed across the 303 x 209 cm dimensions, this piece represents an immense investment of human time and skill.

The total knot count reaches into the hundreds of thousands, resulting in the sturdy construction and substantial 24.1 kg weight that signal true heirloom quality.

This painstaking hand-knotted technique ensures that the pile remains dense, durable, and firmly secured to the foundation.

The time and expertise required to complete a rug of this scale explain its status as a lasting investment in traditional craftsmanship.
