The rug is defined by its distinctive panel design, where each square tells a unique story through intricate floral and faunal motifs. This meticulous arrangement ensures that every section of the floor covering offers something new to discover, making it a natural focal point in a living room, study, or hallway.

Rooted in the rich cultural history of the Middle East, this rug bridges the gap between heritage craft and contemporary living. Its durable construction is designed to withstand daily use while maintaining its beauty, offering a lasting connection to the traditions of its origin.

Bakhtiari rugs originate from the mountainous regions of the Middle East, specifically associated with the nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes of the same name. These people have a long-standing tradition of weaving that reflects their rugged landscape and their deep connection to the natural world, often incorporating the beauty of local gardens and wildlife into their textile work.

The term 'Bakhtiari' refers to both the tribal origin and a specific style of weaving characterised by its robustness and intricate detail. These rugs are known for their distinctively firm foundation, which ensures they remain durable even in active households. The quality is a direct result of the dedicated weaving traditions passed down through generations of artisans.

The signature design element of this rug is the 'khesti' or garden panel motif. Each panel is typically filled with stylised flowers, trees, or animals, creating a structured yet organic visual language. This specific piece stands out for its vibrant colour palette and the clarity of its pictorial motifs, which are hallmarks of the finest traditional weaving from this region.

Owning a Bakhtiari rug is more than just a home decor choice; it is an investment in cultural heritage. These pieces are highly valued by collectors for their blend of tribal authenticity and sophisticated design. By choosing this rug, you are acquiring a piece of history that carries the weight of skilled craftsmanship and the enduring legacy of Middle Eastern artistry.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to its creation. Each individual knot is placed by hand, a process that requires immense precision and patience to ensure the sharpness of the intricate panel patterns and the long-term durability of the finished piece.

With a construction involving over 1.2 million hand-tied knots, the density of this rug is a testament to the artisan's expertise. This high knot count not only creates a firm, resilient pile that resists wear but also allows for the complex, detailed imagery that defines this specific style of weaving.

The substantial weight of 17.8 kg reflects the generous use of quality wool and the tightness of the foundation. This density provides a heavy, high-quality feel that stays securely in place, signalling the immense labour and dedication poured into every square centimetre of the rug's surface.
