Ardebil rugs take their name from the historic city in the northwestern part of the Middle East, a region long celebrated for its contributions to the textile arts. This area has served as a vital hub for trade and craftsmanship for centuries, influencing the designs and techniques that define these distinctive rugs.

The traditional techniques used in these rugs are designed to ensure longevity and visual depth. By using high-quality Wool and established knotting methods, the weavers create a surface that is both durable and capable of showcasing intricate, vibrant details that remain clear over many years of use.

Signature design elements of the Ardebil tradition often include bold geometric medallions and repeating motifs inspired by the surrounding landscape and architectural history. This runner features a series of striking, interconnected forms that create a rhythmic visual flow, framed by a meticulously detailed border that anchors the overall composition.

Owning an Ardebil rug is an opportunity to preserve a piece of cultural history. These rugs are highly valued for their authentic craftsmanship and the stories embedded in their patterns, making them cherished items for collectors and anyone who appreciates the skill and heritage required to create such a lasting piece.

This runner is entirely hand-knotted, a process that requires immense skill and dedication from the artisan. By individually tying each knot onto the base, the weaver ensures that the pile remains secure and consistent, resulting in a durable and resilient rug that is built to last for generations.

The craftsmanship is further highlighted by the rug's weight of 7.6 kg, which reflects the significant amount of high-quality Wool used in its construction. This density is a clear indicator of the labour-intensive effort poured into the piece, as more material and a higher number of knots require more time to complete, ultimately ensuring a more robust and premium floor covering.
