Shop large blue rugs, 230–349 cm: Free delivery

Large blue rugs measure between 230 and 349 cm on their longest side, running from soft light blue and dusty blue-grey through to bold navy and cobalt. That’s enough scale to sit under a four-to-six-seat dining table, anchor a sofa and coffee table, or frame a double or king bed. You’ll find the range in wool, cotton, jute and washable weaves, in popular sizes such as 200 x 300 cm and 250 x 300 cm. Not sure what fits your room? Our rug size guide walks you through it.

Choosing a large blue rug

A large blue rug gives a big floor area one calm, easy-to-live-with colour. A blue rug is a popular colour at this scale because it stays calm over a big area and suits most rooms. Light and dusty blues keep a bright living room feeling open. Navy and dark blue hide everyday marks and ground a bedroom or dining space. Blue also sits easily with oak, grey sofas and white walls, so it’s a low-risk choice if you’re unsure how a bold colour will look at this size. At 230 cm and up on the longest side, a large rug is big enough to anchor a full seating area, sit under a four-to-six-seat dining table, or frame a double or king bed.

Frequently asked questions

Our range of large blue rugs measure between 230 and 349 cm on their longest side. The most popular sizes are 200 x 300 cm and 250 x 300 cm, alongside round and square options. If you need something bigger, see our extra large blue rugs.

Light blue and dusty blue-grey keep a big room feeling open and are forgiving with most furniture colours. Navy and cobalt ground a space and work well as a contrast against neutral sofas or pale walls. If the room already has a strong colour or pattern elsewhere, a lighter or more muted blue is usually the safer choice at this size. Our guide on how to choose a rug colour covers this in more detail.

Wool is the most durable all-rounder, naturally stain-resistant and warm underfoot, making it a good fit for living rooms and bedrooms. Cotton and washable large blue rugs are lighter and easier to clean, so they suit dining rooms or homes with kids and pets. Jute adds natural texture but is better suited to lower-traffic rooms, since it’s less forgiving of spills.

Yes, as long as the tones don’t clash. Pair a navy sofa with a lighter or more muted large blue rug, or a pale blue sofa with a deeper blue, so one doesn’t wash the other out. Adding a neutral cushion or throw in between helps tie the two together. See our guide on what colour rug goes with a blue sofa for more pairings.

Hoover regularly at a pile-appropriate setting, and blot rather than rub any spills so the colour doesn’t spread. Rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and use a rug pad to stop it slipping on hard floors. See our full guide on how to care for a rug for more.
